Neocis Inc. Robot Surpasses 10,000 Dental Implants Placed

Neocis, Inc. announced that clinicians have successfully placed over 10,000 dental implants using the Yomi® dental robotic platform. Yomi® is the first and only FDA-cleared robot assisted dental surgery system designed to provide assistance in preoperative and intraoperative phases of dental implant surgery. It gained FDA clearance for dental implant procedures in 2016 and further received approval for full-arch dental implant procedures in 2020.

“This milestone is a truly phenomenal accomplishment by our partner clinicians,” said Alon Mozes, CEO and co-founder. “The rapid growth and adoption of the Yomi platform shows the commitment dental professionals have to delivering the highest standard of care to their patients and Neocis is proud to be a partner in their practice success through Yomi.”

Neocis has been following a trajectory to transform dental implant surgery with advanced robotics. The robot is designed to provide a minimally invasive flapless approach to full arch surgeries, while further translating CT scans into navigation through its own proprietary software.

Dental implant placement surgery is more complicated and time consuming than most standard dental procedures, such as filling a cavity, placing a conventional bridge or performing a root canal. In addition, dental implants were not part of the standard dental school curriculum until recently, meaning that the majority of dental general practitioners (GPs) were not trained to place implants. As a result, the bulk of dental implants are placed either by specialists or the small percentage of GPs who have implant-oriented practices.

Neocis has stated that its focus is on enhancing dental surgeons’ capabilities and advancing patient care through the latest technological innovation. Neocis works closely with dental surgeons to understand their needs with an overall goal of overcoming surgical and treatment challenges.
