Orpheus Medical will continue to operate independently, becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intuitive Surgical.
Orpheus Medical stores surgical videos and images to an archive accessible to hospitals worldwide. Videos and images are automatically saved in patients’ medical records to ensure proper documentation and immediately provide health care practitioners with valuable health informatics.
Intuitive’s senior vice president of corporate development, Julian Nikolchev believes that:
“The addition of Orpheus will provide customers —including surgeons, patient care teams and hospitals—with ready access to and a deeper understanding of their data, which we believe may help our customers improve patient outcomes and lower total treatment costs.”
Orpheus Medical’s CEO, Gaddi Menahmen believes that the acquisition will allow more patients and their doctors to have quicker and easier access to their data.
