Fujifilm Medical Systems has announced they will partner with Caresyntax to develop Fujifilm Systems Integration. Caresyntax, a major developer in automation in surgical equipment and procedures, will be supplying their innovative automation intelligence to help create this Systems Integration.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased need for streamlined surgical procedures and other hospital operations, as the prevalence of viral infections and its subsequent complications has led to higher demand for hospital staff and space. Creating hybrid operating rooms that can suit image and data integration, as well as endoscopy procedures, can help meet this rising demand.
Devon Bream, Global Vice President of Endoscopy and General Manager of Systems Integration at Fujifilm said:
“As the only vendor that offers endoscopic imaging as well as modality solutions and enterprise-wide IT products—launching the Fujifilm Systems Integration business will allow Fujifilm to capture the full clinical value chain. We selected caresyntax as our supplier because the team has a demonstrated history in developing data-driven integration that provides the total visibility to achieve increased workflow efficiency, patient safety, and surgical performance.”
Recent research shows that before COVID-19, there had been an increase in demand for more efficient operating rooms. integrated operating rooms have become increasingly valuable as surgical technology continues to improve.
This new system from Fujifilm and Caresyntax seeks to integrate both Fujifilm’s existing medical imaging products with the Synapse analytic and data storage technology used alongside them.
Dennis Kogan, Co-Founder and CEO of Caresyntax, said:
“Fujifilm’s vision of closing the loop between its powerful clinical informatics ecosystem and its trusted offerings at the point of care will be a resounding success that will create value for caregivers and patients. Caresyntax is excited to leverage our robust surgical automation and analytics platform to support Fujifilm in this endeavor. We strongly believe that data-driven collaborations with health systems, medical device companies, and insurers are key to managing surgical risk and promoting smarter, safer surgery; and are proud to partner with Fujifilm in pursuit of this common goal.”
