In September 2021, dental equipment manufacturer Planmeca agreed to acquire KaVo.
Dental products company Envista Holdings has officially completed the previously announced sale of its KaVo Treatment Unit and Instruments business to Planmeca for up to $455 million, which included a potential earn-out payment of $30 million.
As a prominent brand known for its history of innovation, design, and high-quality manufacturing of dental equipment, KaVo Treatment Unit and Instruments is headquartered in Biberach, Germany and has a workforce of 1,500 employees dedicated to developing its presence in over 60 countries.
Envista CEO Amir Aghdaei said in a recent news release,“Envista is focused on its strategic priorities to build and optimize a more consumable and digitally-enabled, workflow-oriented portfolio. This sale will better position Envista to invest organically and inorganically and expand our product offerings within these areas.”
The overall acquisition is said to benefit Planemeca’s vast product portfolio whilst enhancing the growth and competitiveness of both companies.
The acquired business generated revenues of approximately $357 million and $317 million in 2019 and 2020 fiscal years.
