Israel-based Eitan Group has partnered in a distribution deal with Canadian Hospital Specialties Ltd for their Sapphire infusion pump systems. These systems utilize a seamless touchscreen interaction that delivers high-end volumetric infusion pump functionality in a compact and small size. The pump can be utilized for clinical, hospital and ambulatory settings.

iData Research’s latest market research has found that electronic ambulatory pumps are a fast-growing segment. This growth is primarily driven by the move towards outpatient services and away from in-hospital treatment, as well as continuing innovations to serve newly discovered market niches. Market growth is also strengthened by a move away towards more compact and reliable devices away from syringe-based pumps, an older technology with bulkier devices. Distribution of Eitan Groups devices will increase accessibility to patients and positively contribute to this segment of infusion therapy devices, despite the fusion pump market being in the mature phase of its market cycle.

In a statement from CEO of CHS, Mike Canzoneri, the “CHS works to introduce the most advanced medical technology to the Canadian market in our mission to improve patient care and outcomes.” He further added that the CHS is “aligned with Eitan Group in our innovation focus; we believe our customers will immediately see the benefits of implementing Eitan Group’s future-ready, intuitive Sapphire platform.”

Currently, the Sapphire infusion system has over 100,000 devices in the market globally. It requires minimal training for medical professionals.
