Tissue Sealants Market Analysis | Global | 2016-2022 | MedCore

Product Description

Tissue sealants and glues are used in surgical procedures and for some types of bleeding to seal the edges of tissue together, prevent leakage of fluid around the surgical sites and in some cases also to reduce adhesions. Thus, even though some products are indicated only for tissue sealing, they are also used off-label as a hemostat and as an anti-adhesive as well. Broadly, tissue sealants can be classified into natural sealants and synthetic sealants. Natural sealants can further be segmented into fibrin and protein sealants.

Fibrin sealants are blood-derived products that are absorbable and form fibrin clots to arrest bleeding during surgeries.
