Suresmile is pleased to announce that the CS 3600 intraoral scanner (Carestream Dental) has been certified for use with suresmile digital orthodontic technology. Since suresmile is designed to enable orthodontists to visualize and simulate multiple diagnostic set-ups and design archwires accurate to .1mm, the accuracy of the scans play a critical role in maximizing the effectiveness of the system.

“The CS 3600 delivers the high resolution images that suresmile requires to design 3D models and produce precise orthodontic appliances,” Phil Getto, chief technology officer, OraMetrix, said. “It’s crucial that models are accurate so that we can measure bracket positions on the teeth, and, most important, so practitioners can see how the teeth fit together from every angle and determine the most efficient treatment plan.”

With the integration of CS 3600 scans and suresmile software, orthodontists now have new options for a digital workflow. Digital treatment planning and customized prescriptive archwires can lead to more precise and efficient treatment.

Carestream Dental’s CS 9300C systems previously received the coveted suresmile certification from OraMetrix in October 2011 and April 2013.

“OraMetrix is positioned to play an important role in the changing orthodontic landscape,” said.Matt Hendrickson, director of orthodontics, Carestream Dental “Certification of the CS 3600 for use with suresmile and elemetrix validates the incredible accuracy of the scanner and provides another avenue for our mutual customers to adapt and thrive in a changing market.”
