The Chinese and Indian markets for crowns and bridges are expected to reach over $930 million by 2017.
This market is being driven by the Chinese and Indian population’s improvements to oral health, as many patients are retaining more of their natural teeth. Over the last 20 years, the rate of edentulism in patients over the age of 65 has declined in China and India. In the past, patients who would have required full dentures may now only need a fixed bridge. Similarly, patients who once would have required partial dentures can now opt for a single crown. This shift from removable to fixed prosthetics will drive the market for crowns and bridges.
