Earlier this month, Organogenesis Inc announced the FDA approval of GINTUIT™ (Allogeneic Cultured Keratinocytes and Fibroblasts in Bovine Collagen), a cell-based product that is able to generate aesthetically pleasing oral (gum) soft tissue. This is a huge milestone for the dental surgery industry as it marks the first Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) approval of an allogeneic cell product, as well as the first cell-based technology that is FDA-approved for use in the dental market.
